October 22, 2024 Watercraft Traffic Reopens at N. Lake Samish BridgeSignificant progress has been made on the N. Lake Samish Bridge Replacement Project with the recent drilling of shafts for the new bridge. This milestone allows us to reopen the area to watercraft traffic. As of Tuesday, October 22, the turbidity curtains and warning buoys have been removed, and crossing between the basins has been restored. However, if you see active construction work, please wait for the ‘go ahead’ from staff to proceed under the site. Anticipate intermittent delays of up to five minutes. As the project continues, updates will be posted on the project website. You can also sign up for project updates via email or text. |
Reminder: N. Lake Samish Bridge Closed to All Traffic
Construction of the new N. Lake Samish Bridge will continue through August 2025. As a reminder, Lake Samish Park and the N. Lake Samish Bridge will remain closed to all traffic, including vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians. This is an active construction site. For everyone’s safety, please do not attempt to enter the work zone.
Watercraft traffic under the bridge is open through July during the construction of the temporary work trestle. Moving forward, a new construction sign posted at the Lake Samish public boat launch will help inform users of the status of watercraft traffic near the bridge.
The sign includes a QR code that, when scanned with your phone camera, directs you to the project’s webpage for the latest updates.
