Sex Offender - watching those who may live in this area


WHAT:  The LSA has linked to the Whatcom Sheriff's website - OffenderWatch® for the residents surrounding Lake Samish. OffenderWatch® is the nation's leading registered sex offender management and community notification tool with hundreds of leading agencies in dozens of states utilizing it. Whatcom County's law enforcement utilizes OffenderWatch® to manage and monitor the whereabouts, conduct and compliance status of the registered offenders in Whatcom County. A level III registered sex offender has recently moved from Old Samish Road to the
1200 block of Roy Road.  Steven Thomas Willman, 29, is described as 6 feet tall and 180 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He has multiple tattoos, including three dots on his right hand, "Allen" on his right forearm, and a yin-yang symbol on his ankle. Willman was convicted of third-degree rape and second-degree assault in 2006 in Whatcom County, according to the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office. Willman, along with an accomplice, beat and raped an unknown adult female after she declined his invitation to "party." Willman also sexually assaulted an 18-year-old acquaintance. Both incidents involved alcohol. Level III offenders are those considered most likely to re-offend.  See

  A level III registered sex offender is currently living in the 17800 block Old Lake Samish Rd.    Henry Douglas Marriott, 56, is described as 6 feet 1 inches tall and 220 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes. He has a scar on his right eye about 1/2" long. Marriott was convicted of child molestation 2004 according to the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office. Level III offenders are those considered most likely to re-offend.  See OffenderWatch - Marriott link for additional details.


A level III registered sex offender is currently living in the 1600 block Old Lake Samish Rd.    Benjamin Gardiner Benton, 27, is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall and 169 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.  At age 14 (1999) Benton was convicted of sexually assaulting an 8-year child dozens of times of a 6-month period.  Within two weeks after being released from Juvenile Detention at age 16 he raped a know 13-year old female, according to the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office.  Level III offenders are those considered most likely to re-offend.  See OffenderWatch - Benton link for additional details.
